What is merge insurance? +

Merge insurance means your HubSpot records are automatically snapshotted on a regular schedule. If a merge goes wrong, you can undo it with one click and 100% accuracy because the original data was captured before the merge happened. How do I get started? +

Can I undo a merge? +

Yes. If a record was snapshotted before the merge, Safe Merge can undo it with one click and 100% accuracy. The system restores the original record from the pre-merge snapshot, including all properties and associations. Free plan users get 3 unmerges per month. All paid plans include unlimited snapshot unmerges.

What record types are supported? +

Safe Merge supports contacts, companies, and deals in HubSpot. All three record types are covered by automated snapshots, duplicate detection, and one-click undo.

How It Works

How do automated snapshots work? +

Safe Merge scans your HubSpot CRM on a regular schedule (monthly, weekly, or daily depending on your plan) and captures a complete snapshot of every record's properties and associations. These snapshots are stored securely and used to provide instant, 100% accurate unmerges if a bad merge happens. Snapshots are retained for 7 to 365 days depending on your plan.

How does duplicate detection work? +

Safe Merge uses a 3-stage pipeline. Stage 1 finds exact matches on email, phone, and domain. Stage 2 applies fuzzy matching on names and other fields. Stage 3 (Growth plans and above) uses advanced matching to evaluate ambiguous pairs with live web search verification. This eliminates false positives and catches duplicates that simple matching would miss.

How does chain merge support work? +

If a record was merged multiple times (e.g., Record A merged into B, then B merged into C), Safe Merge tracks the full chain. When you undo, you can separate any or all records in the chain. The snapshot captures the state at each point, so even complex merge histories can be fully reversed.

Do paid plans include Emergency Unmerge? +

Yes. All paid Safe Merge plans include Emergency Unmerge operations each month (10 on Starter, 25 on Growth, 50 on Pro, unlimited on Enterprise). Emergency Unmerge is our sister product that reconstructs records after a merge, even without a pre-merge snapshot. Paid Safe Merge subscribers get this at no additional cost, no credits needed.

What happens when my plan expires? +

If your plan expires or you downgrade to Free, your existing snapshots remain available for the retention period of your previous plan. New scans follow the Free plan schedule (monthly). You can still perform up to 3 unmerges per month. Upgrading again restores full access immediately.

What will the charge look like on my credit card? +

Subscription charges appear on your card statement as "Services - Third Space" or "SERVICES - THIRD SPACE". Third Space, LLC is the company behind Safe Merge.

Data & Security

Is my data safe? +

Yes. Safe Merge uses HubSpot's OAuth security model and only requests the scopes needed to perform snapshots and duplicate detection. Snapshot data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Duplicate detection uses Anthropic's Claude, which does not use your data for training. We never store your full CRM data beyond the snapshot retention period of your plan. Safe Merge vs Emergency Unmerge

What is the difference between Safe Merge and Emergency Unmerge? +

Safe Merge is proactive merge insurance: it snapshots your records before merges happen and detects duplicates so you can merge safely. Emergency Unmerge is reactive merge recovery: it reconstructs records after a bad merge has already occurred, even without snapshots. Think of Safe Merge as insurance and Emergency Unmerge as emergency surgery.
